I have a question about Chavez. To me he is a bit like Castro, the Marxists love him and the Right-wing fascists despise him. I know he centralized the economy, took over broadcasting, and tortures dissidents, but is that much better than being a U.S. puppet dictatorship?
What I don’t understand is why Americans are sooo up in arms about Venezuela or other leftist-leaning South American countries, yet they find it perfectly acceptable that the President recently referred to China as a “partner”. Are we simply a lot more forgiving of China’s human rights’ atrocities?
